Arirang Restaurant

Arirang is an institution on Stockholm’s restaurant scene. A small, warm sanctuary for corean food which was opened in Luntmakargatan in 1975, and still is run by the same family, in the same precises. A large part of the visitors have been regulars for years, and new ones are constantly added to the crowd. If you want to taste the best bibimbap in town, lovely corean nibbles or great kimchi, this is the place to go!

Studio Feuer started a collaboration with Arirang in 2014, and the project has progressed slowly but surely since then. The aim has been modernization, to make the restaurant more contemporary – but that the ambiance and warmth should remain intact – and also, that large parts of the existing furnishings were to be kept. We have tried to convey quality, and to show the same care for the room, that the kitchen staff is showing in their cooking.

The first change that was made was to update the dining room with new chairs and tables, the head waiters desk received a new look and some new lighting was added. In 2016 we progressed further and remade the front room, updated facade signs and made a new take away window towards Luntmakargatan.
